With so many social media sites out there do you think they will replace the search engine for marketing online or for folks to find what they are looking for?

I'm looking for someone to tell me more about what a good social media strategy is. I kind of know what social media is but what do I do with it?

I'd like some recommendations for books about social media marketing. Specifically, best practices and examples of how companies are using sites like Facebook/Myspace/Twitter to build their businesses. Thanks
