Why Did Facebook Remove The Ability To Customize The Friend List?

Isn't this a violation of privacy?
Seems like they are going against their own rules. I don't want everyone in the world to know who my friends are, that's just inviting stalkers!
Do you really think facebook is listening to all the suggestions people send in? I've sen it at least 3 of them myself but so far, I haven't seen any progress made. Personally, I like the old school facebook, even before the privacy settings and view live feed. The way they had it when they first started.
