im new to twitter and i was wondering how do you look and see if people commented on something you put

I don't have time to keep up with my facebook account and wish to delete it (it is currently inactivated) I cannot find any obvious and easy way of removing it and all my details. Surely the owners don't make it deliberately difficult to delete personal information.
