How Do I Update My Facebook Status From My Cell Phone Without Having Other Peoples Updates Texted To My Phone?

I don't have Internet on my phone, but it says if I use my phone to text Facebook updates, I'll receive my friends' updates to my phone. I don't want to receive updates to my phone, I only want to be able to update my own account. How do I do that?
