It’s a bit annoying that everything you do on facebook has to be told to every single one of your friends, and I don’t like the fact that you can’t basically go to the bathroom because facebook has to say it. What can I do to hide some, or all, of my updates from appearing on Facebook?

I am a freshman in high school and really want a facebook. Every single one of my friends has one and I have convinced my mom to allow me to have one. The only problem is convincing my dad. Both of my parents also have one. How to convince my dad to let me get a facebook?
