I don't have time to keep up with my facebook account and wish to delete it (it is currently inactivated) I cannot find any obvious and easy way of removing it and all my details. Surely the owners don't make it deliberately difficult to delete personal information.

I keep receiving email for that account from facebook but when I try and get a new password to access it facebook tells me there is no account. I can search facebook and find it so why can't facebook?
