tell them that on facebook, you get to choose who sees your information. Nobody can see your “page” without your permission. That’s why there are “facebook friends.” only your friends can see your pictures, information, etc. I also have a lot of friends who don’t even have their last name. Just like- Susan R. You don’t have to put your address, phone numbers, or anything like that. You don’t even have to put photos of yourself on there if you don’t want to. It could be a picture of absolutely anything!
I hope this will help for you. It worked for my parents. My mom was really against facebook until I told her it’s VERY safe. And if she wanted to she could look through my friends and I would delete anybody she didn’t agree with
Tell them you can build important contacts that could help you in the future. Facebook is not just for poking and throwing Dave at people. You can also join political, educational, employment and important social groups that can help you in the real world.
Tell them that you will make sure that only people you add will be able to see your page, and that you will only add people you know well. Tell them that you won’t talk to strangers on it, and that you know how to behave responsibly.
your parents are idiots. you should emancipate.
also, you don’t need to ask your parents permission to set up an account on facebook. just do it.
just sign up. why would you even ask?
